The department of the IRMI Ballet School responsible for classical ballet training for children and young people. Students are taught according to the English curriculum and, from Year 6, the Russian Vaganova method. A grassroots dance training programme for children and young people in Upper Austria. Ballet forms the focus from the age of 5, followed later by modern jazz (Matt Mattox), modern dance (Graham), improvisation, Laban Movement and the Chladek System. Stage experience from the very start – the company has already served as a springboard to dance studies at Bruckner University or MUK Vienna.
Founded in 2019 by Mara Kluhs in Perchtoldsdorf: a place where people of all ages can move and discover their joy of dance – from MiniGroove for children aged 1 and up to “Healthy in Rhythm” for everyone aged 70+. In March 1989 Michael Fichtenbaum, former dancer at the Vienna State Opera, founded a private ballet school with a focus on professional training. The youth ensemble Ballet Jeunesse Hippolyte followed in 1990 and integration into the Provincial Capital Music and Art School in 1992. Collaboration with choreographers such as Renato Zanella, Yuri Grigorovich, Peter Breuer and the exceptional dancer Vladimir Malakhov laid the foundation for many successes.
The Vera Ballet Academy (formerly Datri Ballet Academy) is a lovingly run ballet school in Vienna. Children aged 3 and above discover the world of classical dance with joy and discipline. It is run by certified ballet teacher Vera Aleksenko, whose students regularly take part in performances, competitions and auditions.
The aim of the professional four-year stage training programme with public law status is stage readiness at an international level in dance, acting, singing and musical theatre. Around 30 hours per week, a team of active artists, regular workshops with international guest teachers and a state-recognised diploma – on request in combination with the Matura.

Since 2012 VHS St. Pölten has offered ballet classes for adults from beginner to advanced, complemented by modern, musical jazz, tap on request and stretching. Teaching focuses on movements that are gentle on the body and on the particular challenges of dancing as an adult.

Zsolt Elek (1971, Hungary) trained at the Hungarian Dance Academy and began his career at the Hungarian State Opera, later dancing at the Vienna Volksoper and as a soloist with major companies in Italy. He founded ballet schools in Italy and Slovakia and has been ballet master at the Vienna State Opera Ballet Academy since 2016. In 2024 he received the Hungarian Silver Cross of Merit.
